How I overcame the Spartan Beast last night
It’s rare that I say I am proud of myself, but yesterday I stated that I would have the most fun at a Spartan Race and I created fun, play, and ease.
It was not easy doing an obstacle course race that took us over 7 hours to complete as team. We made so many friends along the way who share inspiring stories.
People were all sharing snacks and the community is so powerful. We all share a common thread which was to prove to ourselves to push beyond what is normal.
Not many people can say they thoroughly enjoyed going through a race where I destroyed my hands to where it was oozing out blood from attempting some pretty difficult obstacles.
Over 51k+ steps, 22+ miles, and 4.6+ kcal burnt, I was able to push through and make it another time through the Spartan Beast in Mountain Creek, Vernon.
I was proud of myself for completing the majority of the obstacles. I have gotten stronger through a routine of CrossFit, Yoga, meditation. I have noticed myself enjoying nature and the beautiful views up on top of the peaks.
I was able to laugh more, smile more, encourage others, I was in the community instead of inside of my head, I asked people questions about their stories, about the meanings of their signs. It’s such a beautiful world, we are privileged and have the ability to create whatever we want.
I am so honored to be sharing it with the rest of you creators.
