What I learned from the VP of Sales at Sparrow

Join us on The Davidson Hang Podcast episode 162 with Justin Suh, where we discuss knowing when you are ready to get into leadership. Justin is currently the VP of Sales at Sparrow, an HR tech company based in the bay area. He’s been in management at Blind, Level, Namely, Zenefits, and Intuit. -Knowing which companies to join based on the founders and how to evaluate the top-line executives when choosing your next play. -Combining being prescriptive with empathy to further deals and mindset when it comes to getting promoted and how he was able to break through the bamboo ceiling. We both come from humble beginnings and will share a bit about work ethic and entrepreneurship. These were my top ten takeaways from our conversation 1. Really seeing what empowering and disempowering beliefs we have and choosing the ones that serve us in where we want to go. 2. Not being afraid to take intelligent risks. 3. Having a competitive mindset and not settling/giving it your all. 4. Gratitude and how the immigrant work ethic translates into a strong business mindset. 5. Resilience and grit. 6. How important leadership is in your trajectory and success. 7. Dedication and hard work. 8. How sports help you develop strong habits that carry you much past when you are a teenager. 9. Making lemonade with the cards you were dealt. 10. Really how strong mindset can be and cultivating it daily.
