How I feel leading up to the month of my wedding

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, I cannot have as many people as I would like to but in a good way I can take this opportunity to connect with my fiancee.

It’s interesting what this pandemic teaches you. When you take all of the fluff, the networking events, so much of your energy and time being spent at work a whole world opens up to you.

I was watching a Netflix documentary called My Octopus teacher, who is a pretty awesome movie. I would highly recommend it because of how insightful and the deep the story is. He talks about an Octopus’s life and how to connect, he learned from it when he was going through a midlife crisis. I enjoyed the level of connection to nature, and it helps you see how to connect all of us are in this world. The pandemic helps people focus on what matters. More people are spending time with family, which I always took for granted but seeing how life can potentially be fragile. It doesn’t make you want to spend quality time with loved ones.

From starting my own men’s group, I have been having such deep conversations with the Fellas. Yesterday we discussed the topic of being able to set boundaries. So many of getting pulled into so many projects, and we often forget to take care of ourselves. I know plenty of parents who sacrifice so much for their kids, but sometimes they have forgotten to first take care of yourself. We live in a society where we feel bad taking care of ourselves first.

I also have been reading more often and feel in love with stories and reading biographies again. It’s always nice to reflect on how these amazing people have accomplished so much, but these greats’ inner dialogue is so related. Some of the most successful people in the world are that way. Still, in their mind, they feel like they are never enough, reading Mike Tyson’s, Paul Allen, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Rafa Nadal, and many others, you start to see so many common themes. It is inspiring because of their work ethic, but there is always a factor or something in them that sees that this isn’t enough. That hunger and drive inspire us, but many of us are not willing to make that many sacrifices. Being singular focused helps many of them talk about coaches and being in environments where we are pushing each other to the limit. This pandemic has helped me slow down and be able to take inventory of life itself. How do I want to be for the world? Who do I want to be? In America’s constant state of doing. We never feel like we are enough because of social media, and although it is pretty cool to witness some talented people do extraordinary things on social media. The majority of us can’t stop comparing ourselves. Why can’t I do? Wow, thats not fair how come her partner buys her lovely gifts. I don’t get that…

I’ve been guilty of this as well. I would look at all of these relaxed vacations and add them to my bucket list. But then I do not appreciate the present moment as much because I’m so focused on whenever “this thing is over” to go about my life and “travel” to cool places instead of just enjoying every second.

Knowing your life’s mortality does give you a perspective that I do want to travel to so many places. Now I am can share with my accountability groups I want to travel and give them my bucket list. I genuinely believe that the more you share your goals with others, it is more likely to happen. Putting it into the universe is a beautiful thing where you get to make things come into reality. One of my goals this year is to write more. Thanks to my executive coach Mark Hunter- the last few months have been incredible.

If anyone feels happy and would like to support us moving into our new place. That would be greatly appreciated! I love you all!

I’m excited about going back to normal and being with everyone when it is a bit safer to have large gatherings. Until then, bless you and your heart and soul!
