Episode 74: The Davidson Hang Podcast w/ Julie Tran (Leading AF) part 2

Julie was dropping so many knowledge bombs that I had to have her back on the podcast. We had a deep conversation about being addicted to self-development success and our journeys/ how far we’ve come.

Check this out if you are someone who is crushing it on paper but feels like there is still something missing… Here is a link to the other episode (72).

I’ve included her bio below.

I’m Julie Tran and I empower Asian Females (AFs) to tear down the bamboo ceiling. And then, we’re going after the glass ceiling.

I’m the Founder of Leading AF, a community that develops driven Asian Females into future leaders. We do this by providing powerful workshops, coaching, and mentoring, through the Asian American lens. My vision is seeing waves of Asian Females step into their personal brand of leadership, with authenticity and ease, uplifting our entire cultural generation.

Why am I doing this? Look around – how many Asians do we see represented in senior leadership positions, starting businesses, or just going for their dreams? When you do, it’s the exception and not the norm. I’m CONVINCED this is largely due to generations of cultural conditioning which has ingrained limiting beliefs in our subconscious, creating a thick bamboo ceiling on our potential. These same hallmark qualities that we love and hold dear (like working hard and being humble) have given us MASSIVE success, AND let’s be honest – it also LIMITS us.

Prior to starting Leading AF, I had a successful career in the commercial real estate industry as an executive leading teams to manage billions of dollars in investments. By conventional standards, I had a picture-perfect life. Great career, handsome husband, big house, etc. Despite appearing like I was crushing the immigrant American dream, on the inside, I was deeply unhappy.

I created Leading AF because I wish I had a community like this earlier in my career. It would have accelerated my journey of self-discovery and saved me years of trial and error. I’ve simplified and boiled it down to what actually works and poured it into this community. I did this so my Asian sisters will have breakthroughs in any area of their life. They will discover their AUTHENTICITY and organically embody a LEADER. And do leadership THEIR WAY.

⚡Leading AF launches late spring 2020 ⚡ If you would like to stay updated on the launch and/or inspired to contribute (as a future member or supporter!), message me! This is a great opportunity for us to change the world together, partner up, and have FUN doing it!

On a personal note, I grew up in Orange County, CA, studied at UC Berkeley, and currently living in CT with my husband and our foster sons (6 & 2 YO). About this time last year, we became an instant family overnight. I can’t begin to describe what a profound impact being foster parents have made on our lives, including following my calling to empower and starting Leading AF!
