The art of Making your bed every morning

The art of adding one new healthy habit a day that can change your day.

Do you make your bed in the mornings? It might seem like a really simple question but it really does set the tone for the rest of your day.

I have recently started making my bed again every morning and I have noticed that it really does set the tone for the rest of the day.

I have been slowly incorporating new habits every day into my routine. Creating a system makes it a lot easier to accomplish bigger goals. For instance, I started by listening to one podcast every morning on my commute to work. This lead me into starting getting into non-fiction books and then it eventually became a habit of reading one book a week. I slowly started noticing my TV watching has gone down by 90%.

I started adding waking up just 30 minutes earlier so I was getting up at 630 to go to the gym, and then every couple of weeks or so I started getting up a little bit earlier so I started noticing I was sleeping earlier which lead to this point now where I get up at 520 every morning and now I doing CrossFit 5 times a week.

This all started with just making my bed.

I encourage you to try to do things that scare you every day. Something that gets you outside your comfort zone. In sales, I call C-level executives of Fortune 1000 companies every day for a living. That might seem scary to some people but they are just people like us.

It started off with just calling SMB(small medium businesses), and then mid-market and then now Enterprise.  By training yourself to do something uncomfortable every day. You will get used to doing things that seem far-fetched a year from now.

An example is just taking a really cold shower in the morning. It shocks your body into just being really uncomfortable which really sets the tone for the rest of the day. Suddenly, that extra 10 lbs on your deadlift seem easy because no one likes freezing cold showers in the morning right?

The point of this post was really just to elaborate on what I think can be systematic positive change. I challenge all of you to bring one healthy new habit a day. Please message me if you start to see any changes. I would be curious to hear about all of your journeys into becoming the true you. 😊
